‘Adorn’ – Jewellery Workshop with Hape Kiddle
Speaking Place is excited to partner with artist Hape Kiddle, and Griffith Regional Art Gallery‘s National Contemporary Jewellery Award to present ‘Adorn’. An exploration or worn jewellery sized forms made from wood and fine silver.
Participants will be guided through several techniques including silver shaping and forming, timber shaping, joining techniques, and Yaka Sugi Ban ( Japanese cedar burning technique ) as part of the process of making sculptural jewellery adornment pieces. This is a great chance to explore a variety of possibilities outside of the more traditional jewellery practices.
All materials, equipment and PPE will be supplied. Registration includes participation in Jewellery Workshop with Hape Kiddle, welcome breakfast, and lunch.
Tickets can also be purchased for the Speaking Place Collaborative Dinner that evening.
