The search is on for aspiring songwriters in the Griffith Shire to be part of a music industry mentoring program touring regional NSW this April. The SongMakers Holiday Sessions are presented by national music organisation, APRA AMCOS, as part of the Office for Regional Youth Holiday Break program in partnership with Create NSW.
FREE places are being offered to 16 young people, aged 16-21, to participate in the program. They will spend 2 days in the coming school holidays, writing and recording songs and learning about music careers from some of Australia’s most exciting creators.
MEET THE MENTORS
Kota Banks
Sydney electronic artist/writer and vocalist, Kota Banks, makes lyrically-sophisticated hyper pop. She is a frequent writing collaborator and go-to festival performer with a growing global band of passionate followers.
Chelsea Warner
(SongMakers Alum!!) Chelsea Warner is a producer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated with Emalia, Tentendo, and Vetta Borne and has credits on releases by Ūla, Urthboy, Liyah Knight, BVT and more. She is fast becoming a go-to producer collaborator.
Asti Holz
Astrid Holz is lead singer, writer and producer in Forces & Fury, an electronic lofi pop duo based in Umina, NSW. Asti has also operated in the music industry for many years as a musical director and drummer, and is currently performing with Jack River, Faker, GRAACE, Ashwarya and Urthboy all around the country.
Piccolo Family Farm acknowledges the traditional landowners, first producers, and storytellers of Wiradjuri Country. We observe 60,000 years of First Nations culture and practice, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
